Pumpkin~ 10 years old

On November 30, 2000 my life changed forever. I was blessed with the most beautiful baby girl. She was 6lbs, 8oz and 19 inches long. That was ten years ago, I can't believe the time has past by so fast. It really felt like a blink of an eye. My only regret is that I did not document every precious moment. Pumpkin is a magnificant young lady. She is as tall as me now and has the sweetest personality. She loves God with all her heart and really enjoys going to church. She volunteers in the pre-school room and loves it. She has played kickball, been on a swim team and is currently into basketball. She is pretty good too. She loves Justin Bieber and every show on the Disney channel. She is a great big sister. She is so motherly and will someday be a wonderful mother. She has a desire to go to Disney World, go horseback riding and own a dog. What I love most about my daughter right now is that she is so young at heart. She still plays with dolls and littlest pet shop. I hope I can keep her young and innocent for a long time. Pumpkin enjoys reading, she has read The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and is currently reading The Magic Tree House series. One of her favorite activities is listening to audio books in the car. This year Pumpkin has began taking Violin lessons and she seems to really enjoy it. She has only been to five classes and can already play Mary has a little Lamb. My daughter is a beautiful and wonderful person. Although I want the years to go by slowly, I can't wait to see the person she becomes. God Bless you always sweetheart. I love you.

Nims Island by Wendy Orr

We are currently reading a book entitled Nims Island by Wendy Orr. Even though the movie and book have been out for years, I have never read or seen the movie. So I was as excited to read this book as the kids were. Our homeschool group choice this book as part of our book club. On our first meeting, Mrs. Rachel had the kids make a 3D Island out of salt dough. It was amazing and all my students really enjoyed doing it. Their islands had to dry and they were instructed to paint the water blue. The kids did just that and they looked nice. The second time we meet the kids learned about bioluminescence and plankton. In the book, Jack is looking for this kind of plankton. The kids also put a sail boat on their map. The last meeting the kids did some worksheets and completed their island. They turned out really well. Pumpkin really enjoyed this book and activities. The Friday before Spring Break we all watched the movie. It was a good movie but really different from the book. I love homeschooling my daughter.

March 1, 2011...Our 3rd Anniversary

Yesterday, Aaron and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. It seems weird that we have only been married for 3 years because it seems like we have been together forever. The truth of the matter is that we have been a couple for 7 years and married for only 3. It was a long journey to finally make the decision to be married. We had a lot of growing up to do before we got married(actually Aaron had lots of growing up to do but I say "we" just to be nice...LOL). My husband and I have grown closer these past few years because we are still growing closer as a couple in the Lord. We have decided that God is in charge of our marriage and our lives. We didn't do much to celebrate our anniversary this year because life has kept us so busy. Aaron had to work all day and I had so many meetings to attend in the evening that we hardly had time to for eachother. I was kind of sad and I missed him today. However, we vowed that next year he will take the day off from work and we will spend the whole day together. We still plan to spend some quality time alone together, we are just not sure when. Aaron did give me the most romantic card and he wrote the sweetest thing in it. Here is what it said...."I love you dearly and am undeserving of your love and compassion. You never seem to fail at suprising me with your acts of love towards me and our family. I thank God for bringing you into my life and all you have brought to our relationship. I hope to become the man of God you truly deserve me to be as a husband and father to our children. I love you dearly and you have my heart and love. I could not imagine a life without you and hope we have many anniveries in our future together." All I could say was AWWWWWWWW....I truly love my husband. My prayer for Aaron and I is that we grow old together....Thank you God.
